Our mission is to ignite the hearts of our community to foster + meet the needs of children in foster care.
Foster + Heart
We saw a pressing need to keep sibling sets together when they enter the foster care system. Too often, siblings are separated due to the lack of available foster homes that can accommodate multiple children. To address this, we launched our Residential Care Facilities, starting with Mimi’s House and Bubba’s House. These homes offer stability, love, and a sense of family for children during a critical time in their lives. Our goal is to ensure that children stay together and experience as much normalcy as possible during their transition into care.
Entering foster care can be a traumatic experience, especially when children arrive with little more than the clothes on their backs. The Essentials Project provides care packages containing clothing, toiletries, pajamas, and other crucial items to children when they first enter foster care. This initiative helps alleviate some of the immediate stress and creates a sense of security for these children. Through community partnerships and donations, we ensure that every child has access to their basic necessities.
Building a supportive community is vital for both foster children and foster parents. We organize a variety of local events designed to foster connections, offer support, and create joyful experiences. From our annual Foster Family Fun Day to Interest Nights for prospective foster parents, these events provide opportunities for foster families to bond, share experiences, and build lasting relationships. These gatherings also give foster parents much-needed respite and support.
There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.
