In honor of Foster Care Awareness Month, we are thrilled to launch our next initiative for children entering foster care, The Essentials Project!
The Essentials Project
Every year, thousands of children enter foster care without the essential items they need.
Along with opening our doors to Mimi’s House, we’ve launched another initiative to support children entering the foster care system, The Essentials Project. Our goal is to provide every child who enters foster care with a bag of essential items, like clothes, pajamas, toiletries, undergarments, and more.
These items can make all the difference in a child’s life during this difficult time. But we need your support to make this project a success. You can donate items, contribute funds, or spread the word to your friends and family.
Together, let’s make a difference in the lives of children in foster care at Mimi’s House and beyond!

Example Shopping Lists
We are so thankful for any amount of items you are able to donate to The Essentials Project! The following shopping lists are meant to be examples for those who wish to buy items that will complete a bag for the first 48 hours or even up to a full week!
On Tuesday May 23rd, we will be gathering all donations in the Capital Church East Parking Lot from 4pm-6pm. If you cannot make this time slot, please leave your donations at our drop-off bin located in the same location – don’t worry, it will be clearly marked!
